  1. This is the documentation file for most of the fonts I have created.

  3. These fonts are freeware.  However, I do ask that it not be uploaded anywhere except America Online and the NAUG/C-WUG BBS (and the DTP BBS run by AFA Chuck) without my permission.  I do, however, give permission for NAUG and C-WUG to distribute this font.  I also do NOT give my permission for this font to be included in any public domain collection (disk, CD-ROM, etc.) without my written permission.)

  5. Kensington Dingbats and Kensington Extra Dingbats:
  6. I created this font because I wanted some different types of symbols for use as bullets instead of the standard dot usually found at option-8 in most fonts.  So I created a number of variations of five pointed stars, pentagons, and other symbols in various sizes.  Extra Dingbats includes additional symbols of things that I found around the Philadelphia area, plus some education "dingbats". This font grew out of my first released font, KensingtonTest.

  8. KensingtonTest font:
  9. The upper case letters  or numbers are those characters surrounded by a box.  The lower case letters or numbers are those characters surrounded by a circle.  Special characters are included like boxes & circles with checks in them, as well as, mathematical operations (Add, Subtract, Multiply, and Divide symbols.)  I created KensingtonTest out of the need to create a multiple choice answer sheet for a final examination at Kensington High School.

  11. Kensington Block:
  12. A font that grew out of Kensington Test with the letters designed to layout side by side, without space, making a tiled effect.

  14. Kensington Banner:
  15. Another font that grew out of Kensington Test and similar to Kensington Block where the tiles or letters look similar to an embossed ribbon.  The letters stick out larger than the ribbon joining the letters together.

  17. KensingtonDivide:
  18. A special mathematical font useful for creating division problems (horizontal).

  20. KensingtonRoot:
  21. A special mathematical fontuseful for creating root problems (square root, cube root, etc.)

  23. KensingtonGeometry:
  24. Additional Dingbats of mathematical origin.  Lots of triangles, squares, pentagons, hexagons, etc.

  26. The Kensington fonts are "lovingly" named after the school I work at, Kensington High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The name "Dingbats" in no way refers to my students and any resemblance between students fitting that description are purely coincidental and not of my choice.

  28. Signal Flags font:
  29. (Based on an Apple IIgs bitmap font called SignalFlags.72 probably designed by Lee Dronick, formerly of Beagle Bros) includes representation of the Naval flags for A through Z and numbered pennants.

  31. Signal Flag Outline:
  32. Similar to Signal Flags font but no shading.

  34. World Flags:
  35. A font consisting of many of the flags of countries of the world.

  37. Stars of David:
  38. There are numerous variations of six pointed stars.  In addition, the upper case alphabet  and numbers consists of letters (or numbers) in a six pointed star (black letters on a white background.)  The lower case alphabet and option-numbers consist of letters (or numbers) in a  six pointed star with text in white on a black background.  Also includes other symbols of Jewish origin.

  40. Torah Solid and Torah Outline:
  41. Two fonts where letters are created using scrolls or the Torah

  43. Dreidels:
  44. Dreidels is a font where each character is surrounded by a Dreidel.  A dreidel is a toy used by children on Chanukah.  The upper case letters are filled in (white characters on a black background) and the lower case letters are not (black letters on a white background.)

  46. EightBall:
  47. A font with letters and numbers within black balls, similar to the EightBall in Billiards or Pool.

  49. QueueBall:
  50. A variation of the EightBall font with striped balls containing letters and numbers.

  52. Xmas Ornaments:
  53. A font of Christmas ornaments consisting of letters and numbers within hanging ornaments and additional Christmas symbols and symbols within ornaments.

  55. Classified Dingbats:
  56. My newest font.  Based upon an idea I had when reading the Philadelphia Inquirer.  The Philadelphia Inquirer and its sister paper, the Philadelphia Daily News, use graphics to represent different categories of classified advertising.  I created this font out of that idea.  There are two "dingbats" for each item.  One is without a box and is "normal".  The other is boxed and in reverse compared to the shifted variety.  I then added new dingbats for such items as computer (hardware or software), formal wear, specific pets (cats, rabbits, birds, horses), and other services.
